Buzzards

Buzzards are the most common and widespread bird of prey in the UK. When gliding and soaring, they will often hold their wings in a shallow ‘V’ and fan out their tail.

A buzzard’s ‘mewing’ call can easily be mistaken for a cat!

In the uk we only have 1 kind of buzzard  "The Common Buzzard" however the French call them ‘variable’ buzzards because they vary their hunting style they can hunt their own prey, go for road kill or just run along the ground with their long legs picking up worms and insects.

The common Buzzards vary in colour they can be anything from completely white to black and everything in between.

There are around 50 species of Buzzards and can live in nearly every part of the world as they’re so adaptable.
