School visits

Learning that’s fun & memorable

What better way to learn about predators and prey than by visiting Oxfordshire’s largest birds of prey centre? We host many school visits each year (as well as visits from social groups such as Guides, Scouts, Brownie & Cubs etc.) and always ensure these are both enjoyable and educational. A visit to us is an engaging and entertaining way to raise awareness of certain species and educate the future generation.

We offer offsite visits with our birds to schools.

The cost for a visit is £325+vat for the first hour and additional hours are charged at £150+vat, all travel costs are included.

We would bring around 5 different birds, we would normally bring a mixture including Falcons, Hawks, Owls, Vultures and Kites but we are happy to just bring Owls if you wish.

In the session lasting 1 hour we would recommend no more than 60 children and we would typically be based in the school hall or gym and would have the children sat on the floor whilst we introduce them to the birds one and a time.

These sessions include in door flying and some handling opportunities for the children along with commentary suited to the age group and Q&A opportunities.

We do offer out door flying displays to larger groups if the location is suitable, but these sessions are priced on an individual basis.

Every year we welcome dozens of schools to our visitor centre at Millets Farm OX13 5HB, we have a collection of around 100 Birds of Prey, Meerkats, Raccoons, Reptiles, Marmosets and more.

We are open 10:30am to 4pm Tuesdays to Sundays all year around with daily Flying displays at 1pm on weekdays.

The cost of a visit to us starts at £9.95 for general entry with 1 Adult per 10 children included, additional adults are charged at £12.95. If you wish to include a guided tour and handling session the cost is £14.95 per child

We are fully licenced, insured and can provide risk assessments on request, all of our staff have DBS checks in place and details can be made available.

If you have any dates in mind or further questions please feel free to ask.

“Super day with the owls”
Had a super day learning about and flying the owls at the falconry centre. Knowledgeable keepers and plenty of different birds to look at. Definitely recommended if you're a fan of birds of prey.
